Lights

Typically a copy stand or table top set up uses two at 45 degrees on either side of the thing being photographed. Lights can be as simple as desk lamps or professional photography lights. Fluorescent lights that are daylight balanced are a good choice.

Flatbed scanners can be used for various material types including photographs, documents, books and  often including film and slides.
